Tummy Tuck Conveniently located to serve San Ramon and San Francisco
The tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure is common for patients after laxity in the abdomen from ageing, genetics, weight loss or pregnancy. Depending on the patient’s need, the procedure can tighten the abdominal muscles and increase core stability and strength. Stretched and damaged skin, loose skin and excess fatty tissue can be removed. The incision is placed low on the abdomen in the body’s natural crease and will take approximately a year but can fade back to the natural skin color and be barely noticeable. Many patients find that returning the abdomen to a tight and flat abdomen after pregnancy and weight loss is extremely difficult with diet and exercise alone. Tightening the abdominal muscles and removing the excess fat and skin surgically dramatically improves the appearance of the abdomen and allows both men and women to reach their goals of looking and feeling fitter.

The surgery takes 2-3 hours depending on the patient and can be done with an overnight stay or as an outpatient procedure in a fully accredited private surgery center. The procedure is done under a general anesthetic. Activity level and weight resistance is restricted for 2-3 weeks and then light aerobic exercise for 3-4 weeks with adding weight resistance and increasing intensity to a full work out by 6-8 weeks. Sit-ups and push- ups can be started at 6-8 weeks.
