Dr. Place is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in Cosmetic surgery of the face and body.
Dr. Place was born in South Africa and moved to California for high school. She attended Monte Vista High School and graduated with honors. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from St Mary’s College of California in Moraga. Dr. Place graduated with honors and was awarded the Carlos Frietas Award for Outstanding Scholarship as Biology major.
Dr. Place completed her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She presented and published research in Otolaryngology, Urology and Plastic Surgery during medical school but her main interest was Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed a surgical internship at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia and then went on to do a three year General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California followed by a three year Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency also at Loma Linda University Medical Center. During her residency she continued her interest in research and presented and published papers in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Place spent a year at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri in an academic practice as an Instructor in Plastic Surgery before moving back to Danville to go into private practice. Dr. Place has been in practice since 1998 and is on staff at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek and Concord campuses, and San Ramon Regional Medical Center. She has privileges at Webster Outpatient Surgery Center and San Ramon Hospital’s outpatient surgery center.
Dr. Place specializes in Aesthetic or Cosmetic Surgery of the face and body and Breast surgery. She has developed her practice to provide a complete patient care environment with experienced and friendly staff. Dr. Place and the Aesthetic Skin Care Center provide a complete service starting with conditioning treatments for the skin, laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments, skin care products, (Obagi Skin Program) and extending to Botox, Juvederm, Restylane and Sculptra. Surgical procedures include facial rejuvenation; facelifts, eyelid lifts, brow lifts; body contouring; liposuction, tummy tucks, arm lifts, thigh lifts; and breast surgery; augmentation, reduction, and lifts.
